Mr. Thompson is a music educator,
performer, and conductor. He is well known in international luthier circles and has performed on classical guitars of his
own design and construction.
Mr. Thompson is very interested in Brass Bands. His experience came Brass Banding with
Onslow Evening Post, a leading brass band in the movement in New Zealand. He also conducted the Porirua Metro Ford Brass Band
on two occasions while there. He has participated in the Metropolitan Silver Brass Band in Toronto on Eb Tenor horn. He is
editor of The Shepherds Crook, the online newsletter of the American Brass Band Association.
Mr. Thompson is comfortable
leading large and small ensembles of musicians in both instrumental and choral organizations. Classroom teaching of Basic
Music, Harmony, Conducting, Counterpoint, Theory and Composition are well within his scope of abilities.
2003-2004, Mr. Thompson taught Music Appreciation and Classical guitar at Arizona Western College, Yuma, Arizona.
2004-2005 Mr. Thompson teaches as a foreign expert in Oral English, Shanghai University, PR China.
While in China, a few private classical guitar students will be accepted.
